No one loves paperwork, but this update is really important. As of July 20, we will be collecting tax information from all creators on the platform. Here’s what you need to know.
What is changing?
To comply with U.S. tax regulations, we will start collecting tax information from all content creators, whether you live in the U.S. or abroad. Your tax forms will be available directly in Mainhub. To simplify the process, you will be able to submit your tax details online through your Model Dashboard to stay compliant and keep your payouts running smoothly.
There will be different types of tax forms, depending on your tax classification according to the IRA:
- For Models who are “US persons”, you will need to submit a W-9 tax form.
- For Models who are “non-US persons”, you will need to submit a W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E tax form.
Why is this happening?
As a video sharing platform, we're legally required to report what creators earn. Collecting your tax information lets us issue the right forms (1099 or 1042-S) and apply any withholding tax that may be required. Gathering your details upfront keeps everything accurate and your payouts on track.
Important Dates to Keep in Mind:
- July 20: The submission process officially opens. Tax forms will become available in the Payment Information section of your Core Settings. We will provide instructions on how to submit your tax details online through your Model Dashboard.
- August 28: The deadline to submit your completed tax form.
If your form is not received within this timeframe, payouts may be paused or subject to applicable withholdings until your tax form is processed and verified.
How can I prepare?
Right now, there is no required action. This is only a heads-up that the change is coming.
When the tax forms become available on July 20, we will notify you by email and with a reminder when you log into your Pornhub account. We will also be sharing helpful resources, including Help Center articles and step-by-step videos, to make this process as easy as possible.
