Get to Know Freedom, Pornhub’s Content and Community Manager

If you’ve ever wondered who’s been driving some of the creative momentum behind Pornhub’s growing community — from the claw machine at AVN or the real-life Shorties booth at X3, to representing the brand at GRABBYS Europe — meet Freedom, Pornhub’s Content and Community Manager. Since joining, he’s helped strengthen and expand PornhubGay’s creator network and even earned an XBIZ Exec Award for Brand Ambassador along the way.

 

Hi Freedom! To start, is Freedom your real name?

Hi Pornhub! Yes, my real name is Freedom! Most folks assume it’s my chosen or industry name, but it was actually given to me on my first birthday. It’s truly the perfect name for the industry, almost like I was destined to be here! The 90’s classic “Freedom” by George Michael follows me everywhere, although contrary to popular belief, I’m not named after it...

 

You've worked hard to support and uplift Gay Models. Can you tell us about some of the initiatives you've spearheaded and any milestones or achievements you're particularly proud of that have helped build the gay community?

This one speaks close to my heart! Back in 2024, I kickstarted an initiative that optimized close to 100 Model accounts from Pornhub to PornhubGay that redirected the Model’s profile and content, and it really had a huge impact on rank! Another moment that I’m proud of is Pornhub’s involvement in GRABBYS Europe in 2024 and 2025, because I wouldn’t stop yapping about it to my team! From building relationships in person, to moderating three panels (in English and in French!) and presenting awards on stage, the whole event makes my heart glow. I attended for two consecutive years and in 2026, I was asked to be one of the official judges for their creator awards show!  

One of the things I’m most proud of seeing is how much the PornhubGay Model Ranking page has transformed over the years. My team has worked closely with creators to bring new talent to the platform from established performers like Rhyheim Shabazz and Legrand Wolf to emerging creators such as Colt Spence and Samuel Hodecker.

What are some ways you show up for others during Pride month?

Pride month for me is all about my local community and close friends. I have a rat-pack of queer friends and we’re always up to playful mischief during Pride month. Dinners with close friends, pop-up raves until the wee hours, chasing waterfalls, lazy park hangs. I usually show up for my community with chips and dips (and by supporting local artists).

 

Can you tell us about your role at Pornhub and how you got into the industry?

I joined Pornhub in March 2023 as the Product Marketing Manager and have transitioned into our Content and Community Manager. My role has evolved over time, but I primarily focus on all marketing initiatives that impact our Model community.

Back in the day, I used to watch a docuseries called Webdreams that would follow adult performers throughout their lives/at industry events, and was beyond fascinated. That started my fixation on the adult industry and remember watching and thinking, “Wow, people really get to attend cool events like this and GET PAID?!” Well, now I’m one of the lucky folks who do!  

Before Pornhub, I worked in marketing for a popular loose-leaf tea brand for 10+ years. Sana, our Director of Content and Community at Pornhub, and I used to work together and she knew I had a fun side (I often made tea bagging jokes at the office) and encouraged me to consider working at Pornhub... a few times actually! A spot eventually opened on her team, I applied, went through a handful of interviews, and landed the gig! The rest is history.

 

What do you love most about working in the adult entertainment industry?

I’ve been the biggest fan of the adult industry for as long as I can remember. For me, working in the industry is like getting a golden ticket to see where all the magic happens. I’ve had the chance to meet SO many idols, stars, and legends that I’ve looked up to for years, many of which I have become friends with! But what I appreciate the most is the love the industry has for each other and the community that we’re continuing to build and protect.  

 

What does a typical day at Pornhub look like in your role?

My work focuses on supporting and spotlighting our Model community through things like marketing campaigns, blog content, Model recruitment and onboarding, social strategy, and event logistics — to name a few. 

As for a “typical” day… there really isn’t one, and that’s what I love most. My schedule can range from back-to-back meetings and campaign planning to trend-spotting and staying on top of whatever’s next for us. Working in this space comes with some unique moments, like the time I had to explain what “gooning” meant in a corporate meeting. Keeps things interesting!

 

If you hosted a TedTalk, what are the top 3 pieces of advice you’d share with creators to boost their visibility on Pornhub?

Pornhub is a platform to get discovered by a massive audience of over 130 million daily visitors. That’s 130 million potential eyeballs, 130 million potential customers, 130 million potential opportunities! The goal for any creator is to milk that traffic (sorry, pun fully intended) and make money. Here’s three tips to funnel traffic strategically and build your brand:

1. NAME DROP YOURSELF (AND OTHERS): With a goal of becoming a household name, add your stage name whenever and wherever possible. In your video title! In your Model profile banner! In your video thumbnail! While you’re at it, add it as a watermark within the video too!
Don’t forget to name drop those that you are working with. If you were to post to IG, you’d tag your bestie, right? Because you’d want them to engage and share with their audience! Pornhub is no different. Add them to your video title for optimized search results.
Repetition is key – studies say that folks need to encounter a piece of information five to seven times before they truly process it and remember. This will help them remember to find your other paid sites (Psst… Check out the “Rule of 5 to 7 of Marketing” – it’s really cool!)

2. CONSISTENCY IS KEY: Like any social media or user-generated content platform, posting frequently and consistently is key to driving engagement and virality. Find a schedule that works for you and stick to it. Is it once a week, once a month? Think of your releases like TV Show scheduling. Fans always love looking forward to something coming out in the future and counting down the days.

3. LOCK IN: No matter what you’re working on, remember to lock in. Admin tasks (like responding to emails from the Pornhub team!), batch scheduling content for future posting, keeping up with documentation standards, and shooting engaging content—lock in each and every time. Do what you love, do it well, and the rest will come easy.

Great tips, Freedom! Congratulations on your 2025 XBIZ Exec Award win for Brand Ambassador! What are some tips you could give creators to help build brand relationships?

Thank you! Honestly, it still feels a bit surreal! Winning an industry award in under two years of joining wasn’t something I had on my bingo card. It’s been really rewarding to see the impact of the work I’ve been doing and to feel recognized in such a visible way. 

When it comes to building strong brand relationships, I think it really comes down to two things: communication and accountability. Clear, consistent communication goes a long way! Being collaborative, professional, responsive, and easy to work with makes a huge difference. Brands want to work with people who are not only creative, but also reliable and aligned. 

Accountability is just as important. That means showing up prepared, meeting deadlines, owning your role, and delivering on what you say you will. Confidence in what you bring to the table matters, and people can feel that. At the end of the day, it’s about being someone others genuinely want to work with. Professional, consistent, and bringing good energy into every interaction.

 

What are some of your favorite memories from the annual Pornhub Awards?  

I personally LOVE to see the wide range of diverse Models who attend, to see the overlap of all the different sides of Pornhub and PornhubGay (Amateur, Professional) in one united space, sometimes meeting each other for the first time. Seeing Models like Gwen Adora and Violet Myers hanging out together, or Samuel Hodecker and Sarah Arabic. Like, where else in the world could this magic happen?

We heard that you’re a Virgo and a perfectionist! Do you share a birthday with anyone notable, and do you see any shared traits?

I know Virgos have a reputation for being overly meticulous, a little intense, maybe even nitpicky… but honestly, we’re just… useful. Especially in a work setting. That perfectionist streak means we care about the details, the execution, and making things not just good, but right. And in marketing, that’s kind of the whole game. Funny enough, there are a lot of Virgos in this space. I think we naturally gravitate toward roles where creativity meets precision. 

As for birthdays, I share mine with Beyoncé!! Which is an iconic person to live up to, but I do think there are some shared traits: a mix of being grounded but highly creative, strong attention to detail, and a clear sense of aesthetic. There’s also a level of intentionality in how we communicate and show up, which I really relate to. I won’t claim I’m on her level (yet), but I see the Virgo twin alignment!

 

What initiatives are you currently working on at Pornhub, and what would you love to work on in the future?

Right now, I’m focused on a mix of campaign development, event strategy, and performance analysis. I’ve been working on debriefs for key initiatives like XBIZ Miami and the 8th Annual Pornhub Awards, using those insights to shape what we build next. 

Looking ahead, we’re developing marketing campaigns and educational content that highlights Pornhub’s value to Models, like traffic and monetization, while gearing up for event season in September. I’ll also be contributing to our annual 2026 Year in Review, which is always a standout project with tons of data!

What's it like working for the most recognizable adult site in the world?  

Working here is equal parts exciting, surreal, and a great conversation starter! Especially when I’m in Pornhub merch. I’m a big fan of our Japanese collection from last year, and it definitely turns heads. It’s not uncommon for people to recognize the brand right away and strike up a conversation, which always makes things interesting.
On the day-to-day, it’s still very much about strategy, collaboration, and building things that genuinely support our community.
